2022 Meadowbank Riesling

For those who are yet to taste these over the years, a quick heads up that this is not a typical Aussie Riesling. Our grapes originate from very old Tasmanian vines (planted at Meadowbank in 1974) combined with Gerald's more recently planted German Riesling clones. The cool-climate conditions that sweep through our hidden valley continue to produce fruit of exceptional taste and quality. Our winemaker, Peter Dredge, then splits these Riesling ferments between stainless steel tanks (for refined freshness) and old French oak barrels (for complexity and texture) - the final blend produces a wine where acid and the gentlest kiss of residual sugar dance together in perfect harmony. A truly captivating wine that is completely and utterly delicious.

Meadowbank Wines is a renowned winery located in the Derwent Valley, Tasmania, Australia. Situated along the banks of the beautiful River Derwent, Meadowbank Wines has gained a reputation for producing exceptional cool-climate wines.

The winery was established in 1976 by Gerald and Sue Ellis, who planted the first vines on the Meadowbank property. Over the years, Meadowbank Wines has become one of the pioneers of the Tasmanian wine industry and has played a significant role in putting the Derwent Valley on the map as a premium wine region.

The winery focuses on a few select grape varieties, with a particular emphasis on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, and Sauvignon Blanc. These varieties thrive in the cool conditions of the Derwent Valley, producing wines with elegance, finesse, and vibrant acidity. Since 2016, the winery has introduced Peter Dredge in a partnership as their winemaker, further enhancing Meadowbank's status on the wine map of Australia.

Meadowbank don't have a traditional cellar door, but be sure to reach out if you are in the vicinity to arrange an individual visit to the winery by appointment for a unique tasting and vineyard visit.

We offer free shipping over $199! There is no minimum order quantity. Mix and match your own wine pack!

Orders less than $199 are shipped for a flat fee of $15 for standard delivery, or $20 for express shipping.

Once your order has been placed, you will receive an order confirmation via email. We'll dispatch your order within 24 hours during week days.

We are an Australian based company, licensed to sell alcohol across Australia. Currently we ship to all states except NT. All orders are packaged securely for a safe transit to you from our temperature controlled warehouse in Sydney.

DELIVERY

For the delivery of your items, please allow up to 5 business days for most metro areas, and up to 10 business days for remote areas. Please note these timeframes are estimates only and not a guaranteed delivery date. 

You will receive delivery tracking updates once your order has been collected from our delivery partner. All wine deliveries can only be signed-for and accepted by a person 18 years and older.
