2020 Head Wines Old Vine Grenache

Luckily, we have access to very small parcels of fruit from old, dry-grown, hand-pruned/picked vineyards of up to 166 years of age. We decided early on that making a Grenache the way Barossan families made table wines many generations ago would honour the years of back-breaking work that went into keeping the vineyards feasible and sustainable. Whole-bunch ferments, no crushing or temperature control, natural yeasts, hand-plunged and foot-trodden. 

Head Wines is a renowned winery that has made a mark in the Australian wine industry. Located in the Barossa Valley, South Australia, Head Wines is known for producing exceptional, small-batch wines with a focus on traditional winemaking techniques.

Alex Head, the founder and winemaker, has a strong admiration for the wines of the Rhône Valley and works with a number of small growers over having his own vineyards to bring to us his take on the old world wines of the Rhône Valley.

With a dedication to quality over quantity, the fruit for Head Wines are carefully selected and come from all sites that are farmed sustainably using organic principles where possible and where yields are controlled, and grapes are hand-picked.

The 2020 Head Wines Old Vine Grenache is a vibrant and expressive red wine that calls for a food pairing that enhances its fruit-forward and spiced characteristics. One excellent option is to pair it with a Moroccan-inspired lamb tagine. The tender and aromatic braised lamb, infused with flavours of cinnamon, cumin, and dried fruits, complements the Grenache's red berry notes and hints of baking spices.

We offer free shipping over $199! There is no minimum order quantity. Mix and match your own wine pack!

Orders less than $199 are shipped for a flat fee of $15 for standard delivery, or $20 for express shipping.

Once your order has been placed, you will receive an order confirmation via email. We'll dispatch your order within 24 hours during week days.

We are an Australian based company, licensed to sell alcohol across Australia. Currently we ship to all states except NT. All orders are packaged securely for a safe transit to you from our temperature controlled warehouse in Sydney.

DELIVERY

For the delivery of your items, please allow up to 5 business days for most metro areas, and up to 10 business days for remote areas. Please note these timeframes are estimates only and not a guaranteed delivery date. 

You will receive delivery tracking updates once your order has been collected from our delivery partner. All wine deliveries can only be signed-for and accepted by a person 18 years and older.
