Certified organic. Jeff Byrne made just one wine in the difficult 2020 season, a Pinot Noir Shiraz blend. This year sees the blend going back to what Jeff tells us should be the norm going forward, a more classic homage to his Hunter roots. The 2021 release is 90% Shiraz and 10% Pinot Noir, with fruit sourced from two sites. The Shiraz is from 22-year-old vines on a lower site in Orange (680 metres) and the Pinot Noir is from Springvale (as per Byrne’s 100% Pinot Noir).

Both parcels were destemmed and cold soaked for four days before being fermented on skins for 10 days. The wine was then lightly pressed and sent to 500-litre barrels (10% new) where it rested for 10 months before blending.

Byrne Farm is located in Nashdale, Orange, with their farm in fact located on the Northern slops of Mt Canobolas, an extinct volcano. Jeff Byrne is the winemaker behind the label, proudly supported by his wife Bridgette and three girls. After starting his wine career in the Hunter Valley and spending time in Burgundy, Jeff ventured out to create his own wines in Orange after he was blown away by the potential of the region with respect to the altitude and the many microclimates created by the landscape flowing from Mt Canobolas. Jeff focuses on varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, while also creating blends of these varieties.

Pair the 2021 Byrne Farm Shiraz Pinot Noir with roasted duck breast. The wine's rich flavours of blackberries, cherries, and spice complement the succulent meat. Serve with roasted root vegetables for an earthy contrast. Alternatively, enjoy it with a charcuterie board featuring cured meats. Serve slightly chilled (14-16°C) to preserve freshness.

Orders less than $199 are shipped for a flat fee of $15 for standard delivery, or $20 for express shipping.

Once your order has been placed, you will receive an order confirmation via email. We'll dispatch your order within 24 hours during week days.

We are an Australian based company, licensed to sell alcohol across Australia. Currently we ship to all states except NT. All orders are packaged securely for a safe transit to you from our temperature controlled warehouse in Sydney.
