A wonderful Fiano from the Swan Valley region in Western Australia, the oldest wine region in WA! This is pure goodness from Garth and Kristen at Vino Volta.

Originally hailing from the northern parts of Italy, Fiano is a medium-light bodied richer flavoured white wine. More locally here in Australia, the warm climate of the Swan Valley is a great region for the variety, creating some exceptional wines from the variety. Vino Volta have created a masterpiece here. This is a wonderful Fiano to enjoy, its acidity is fresh and bright with punchy citrus and floral flavours. It really is a joy to drink.

Another aspect of what we do is explore varieties that should suit our warming climate and our northern regions. Fiano is a small berried, low yielding grape that hails from the (warmer) southern parts of Italy - namely Campagnia and Sicily. It has plenty of flavour, texture and natural acidity.

Short skin contact before a high solids natural barrel ferment in old barrique. A short maturation to flesh out a little but not too much. This wine is brimming with bright citrus, florals and a lick of dried herbs, lots of texture with bright acidity pulling it all together.

Garth Cliff and Kristen McGann started Vino Volta in 2018, with an accumulated 40 years experience between them in the wine industry, and focusing on fun and experimental styles of wines. Vino Volta are from the Swan Valley/District in Western Australia, being the oldest wine region in WA.

The warm climate of the Swan Valley makes the likes of Chenin Blanc and Grenache star varieties for the region, and Vino Volta are really championing these wines in a range of styles and in stunning medium bodied wines. Alongside these varieties they also have a range of other varieties in their range including Fiano, Gewurztraminer and Dolcetto.

Orders less than $199 are shipped for a flat fee of $15 for standard delivery, or $20 for express shipping.
