2022 Clyde Park Pinot Gris

Sourced from some of the oldest Pinot Gris vines in Victoria, the fruit gives depth and palate weight to the final wine. The wine was fermented in two batches. One in stainless steel and the other barrel fermented. Both were kept at a low temperature during ferment to maintain aroma and flavour. The stainless steel ferment provided freshness and crisp acidity while the barrel fermented component shows depth and a complex mid palate. The occasional lees stirring has added some weight and texture.

The result; a wine showing green apple, spiced pear and floral jasmine aromas. Fresh mineral acidity guides you into a oily textural mid palate of ripe pear, herbs and honeysuckle.

Clyde Park Vineyard was originally established by Gary Farr in 1979 in the premium Geelong sub-region of Bannockburn when Chardonnay and Pinot Noir were planted on the property. Further plantings since have increased the vineyard size to 35 acres, expanding the original Pinot Noir and Chardonnay blocks with additional clonal material and adding Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris.

The vineyards are managed in sustainably and, whilst not certified, are organically grown most years. The site produces premium fruit from naturally low yielding vines which make balanced wines of great purity, complexity and finesse. Whilst the approach in the vineyard is very much a hands-on one with all pruning, picking and sorting done by hand, a hands-off approach is adopted in the winery to allow the fruit and terroir to shine in every bottle. With some of the oldest vines in the region coupled with an uncompromising approach to winemaking and viticulture, Clyde Park is at the forefront of Geelong producers and has helped firmly establish the area as one of Australia’s premium wine growing districts.

Pinot Gris pairs exceptionally well with the likes of fish (specially salmon), chicken and pork. Try pairing this wine with chicken skewers or pork tenderloins.

Orders less than $199 are shipped for a flat fee of $15 for standard delivery, or $20 for express shipping.

Once your order has been placed, you will receive an order confirmation via email. We'll dispatch your order within 24 hours during week days.

We are an Australian based company, licensed to sell alcohol across Australia. Currently we ship to all states except NT. All orders are packaged securely for a safe transit to you from our temperature controlled warehouse in Sydney.
